Born to immigrant parents from Scotland on the East Coast, I am a lifelong Whatcom County resident raised in Ferndale. Home has also included Bellingham, Birch Bay and Lynden. That means potential clients can be sure that I know the area and Whatcom County’s real estate market very well. To provide exceptional customer service is in my DNA. After all, I was a local small business owner for years and the community became my family. Now, as a residential and commercial realtor, I’m connecting with even more new people. Since 2019, I have handled major transactions for service stations, convenience stores and popular taverns and proudly earned the moniker "The Gas Station Gal" in the Bellingham/Whatcom market. Some agents sit marketing at a desk all day, but I’m always out networking and learning. With one finger on the pulse of my industry and the rest seeing deals through to completion, I’m the agent who understands the challenges that face many buyers and sellers today. From new parents who want to upgrade to a larger home, to the recently divorced or separated seeking a fresh start, or those moving cross-county to the area, I’m there to support them. I’ve been in similar shoes and know the secure feeling that a gentle hand can provide while navigating a real estate transaction.
There are times when the world can feel so uncertain. Buying or selling real estate doesn’t have to be one of them, especially when a client has a trusted partner to guide them. A prospective buyer or seller has many choices when choosing a licensed real estate professional. The Bellingham/Whatcom real estate market is often temperamental, frequently impacted by local factors that can seem hard to interpret, especially for unseasoned investors, first-time homebuyers or those unfamiliar or new to the area. My goal is to solidify buyer-seller-agent partnerships based on the following:
Truth
You can always rely on me to tell the truth. As a former Whatcom County business owner with lots of experience serving the public, my reputation is most important to me. That means if you have questions, I will always give you a truthful answer.
Ethics
It’s personal! Some agents are just in it to win it. While my goal is mutual success for both my client and me, I will never compromise my ethics merely to achieve an end result. Whatcom County is a tight knit community, and a licensed real estate professional’s reputation is all they have. My clients always know that I have their best interests in mind and will never prioritize mine over theirs.
Knowledge
Anyone can study to become an agent, but what separates the effective from the ineffective is the level of customer service and industry knowledge. With nearly 5 years of experience as an agent, I bring topnotch expertise in Whatcom County’s unique sales market to the transaction. Our market is hyperlocal, seasonal, and volatile. My clients can count on me to bring the latest information to the table. While apps and websites are great sources of information, someone with a deep understanding of our unique market can help clients secure the best deal that meets their needs. If I don’t know the answer to a very complicated question, I’ll go out of my way to get it!
Communication
Speaking the language of real estate is my business. I take a consultative and collaborative approach to explain the ins and outs of the buying or selling process. I’m at the client’s side all the way–from writing the offer, to deal negotiation, to inspection and appraisal monitoring, to suggesting appropriate financing options, and securing title and escrow services. Best of all, the client and I go at their speed. This ensures we arrive at the closing confident and excited about the transaction. My commitment to the client also extends well beyond the closing table.
